Boarding Icon of the Seas
In anticipation of the world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas. Royal Caribbean built a gorgeous new terminal in Miami. The process going through here was so easy! They have facial recognition, awesome organization of lines and we didn’t even stop on the way to the ship. We were on a preview sailing so the capacity wasn’t as high, if you really don’t want to wait in lines I highly recommend purchasing the key!
First you will drop off your luggage outside the terminal. Make sure you have it tagged, or they do have some outside you can write on quickly. You will then go up an escalator/elevator and then onto security which had multiple lines and was super slick. Then from there you walk through the terminal, they scan your boarding pass (highly recommend putting it in your apple wallet) and then you are off to the ship! Even walking up the gangway and onto the deck is unlike any other ship I have seen. Check out the video of it here.
You board directly onto the promenade of the ship, it is two levels and full of things to do, eat and see! Our first stop is always Sorrentos for pizza. It somehow tasted even better on Icon of the Seas.
