My must haves for cruising!

One of the biggest mistakes you can make when cruising is not being prepared to set up your cabin and keep things organized. It is no secret that on cruises even the biggest rooms are going to be tight living quarters and the last thing you want to have happen is you can’t find something when you are trying to get to bingo on time. Right? Right.

Obviously some of these are going to be more so when you are traveling with kids, I have 3 and we have been on 10+ cruises together and most of these are things that honestly have made such a huge difference for our family! Especially since we usually will go for all being in one cabin. They all end up in my bed anyway.. why pay for two rooms at this point in the game ;)

The biggest game changer has been this shoe holder, I pack it up with all my kids clothes and fully loaded it fits perfectly in my checked bag. Then when I get in the stateroom we have either hung it on the closet bar or over a door. Then my kids can get themselves dressed and we don’t end up short clothes because the wrong thing got worn.

HOOKS! You will see this everywhere but of all the ones I have tried these suction cup ones have held up the best. I use them by the door for lanyards, bags, anything that we need to grab quick to get out of the room. I also put them elsewhere to hold hats if we don’t have the storage for it.

Water Bottles/Soda. I know this won’t be for everyone but carrying on soda/water and having it in the room is so convenient especially with kids. Even if you have the drink package having to go up to the top deck or down to the promenade can be a pain when you just need a drink. It does vary, but I will send the limits in your final travel documents of what you can bring. Just instacart it to your hotel the night before! Super easy. Of course Suite class may have some already in your room, so keep that in mind before setting all of that up. Mini cans are our go to with this!

Lanyards. Once you have sailed once with Disney you will get lanyards for your room key, they are bulky now though and not my favorite. Having lanyards that extend are super nice and keep everything organized. Typically we only take our cards because the kids don’t need them unless you are getting off at a port and it is one less thing you need to keep track of. This one comes with a pack of luggage tag holders too!

Desk Fan. This one is obviously not a necessity but having that airflow can calm everyone down haha

Door Magnets! My kids LOVE being able to help decorate our door and pick it out in the long hallways. People get so creative with these and it is fun to see them when out walking around. We have some that we reuse for different cruises depending on theming.
