Things you need to experience on Buena Vista Street
When you first walk into California Adventure you are walking on Buena Vista Street. This whole part of the park is tribute to Walt Disney's early years of cartoon making. Oswald's Gas station and Julius Katz are named after Walt's first cartoon characters.
As you make your way down the street you will be able to interact with some characters that "live" on Buena Vista Street. My favorites are a lady with her dog in her purse as well as the happiest policeman you will ever meet. They will be dressed in their 20's & 30's best.
The Red Trolley system is what was used in Los Angeles at that time. The street car numbers also have meaning. You will see Trolley 717 for the Day Disneyland opened - July 17th. Trolley 623 for the 600 series and 23 for the year the Disney brothers opened their cartoon studio. You also will see entertainers riding around on the trolley system.
Carthay Circle Theatre was a very popular movie theatre in early Hollywood. This is where Snow White debuted and that is why you will often see Snow White and Dopey outside of the restaurant. I highly recommend eating here and taking in the all the glitz and the glamor of the photos and ambiance inside.
Make sure to take a picture with the storytellers statue! Put in place in memory of "it all started with a mouse" What is your favorite part of Buena Vista Street? It is such a fun area!
