Disneyland while pregnant!
Anytime you can go to Disneyland you should right? Even with a 20 month old in tow and 2 twins on the way? Haha that was me last week waddling around Disneyland 18 weeks pregnant with twins. Even after going over 50 times in my life I still wondered what I would be able to do and how I needed to prepare! & honestly if it was even worth it.. to be honest I would not do Disneyland for a baby-moon with just my husband. Floating around somewhere tropical and taking the weight off sounds much more intriguing. However the fact that you just can't get those toddler years back made it all worth it. My daughter laughing uncontrollably every time Jessies Carousel started, I would walk the miles for any-day. We also went with our extended family so that really helped. There is no way I could have even left the room by day 3 without extra toddler help!
It is very similar to going with babies, there is still at least 30 rides + activities you can do pregnant. The only one that does not have the pregnancy warning that I would not do again is Midway Mania. It is one of my very favorite rides in California Adventure but it was so jerky and I did not like the feeling of slamming into my lap bar around every corner.
My Biggest tip is remember that you are burning more calories than you do at home. I am in no way a nutritionist but every time I started not feeling so good I would just eat a quick snack (not hard to do in Disneyland, everything is delightful) and I would be good to go again! Be sure you are drinking enough water to offset all the walking as well, you can get a free water cup at any restaurant location! This seems like a good place to insert the yummiest meal of our trip. Mac & Cheese in a Bread bowl. Available at Pacific Wharf Cafe Bakery!
There were multiple times I needed to just take a quick slow down break. Which was hard for me to do because we usually are so go go go in Disneyland! I felt so much better after hanging out in the Animation Building for a bit. Getting off my feet and warming up! That also is where this cute wall is
We also opted to wait for our gender reveal to be in the Park! We tried Balloons but that epically failed, the band showed up and Blair could not understand why we wouldn't just let her run off with them. haha! luckily we are having a BOY and a GIRL! So this cotton candy ended up being the perfect thing ❤️
Like I said earlier the thing that really made the swollen feet worth it was watching my almost 2 year old see her favorite characters, experience the thrill of rides and run around fantasyland in her fancy dresses. Those are the moments that you just can't make up or relive even if you want to.
I would totally do this trip again! The only thing I would do different would be to give myself a little slack for being pregnant and not trying to do the trip like every other time we have been. My biggest tips would be to stay close so you can walk to the parks and go back for a nap if need be! The cost difference - if any. is totally worth the convenience and time savings. I am happy to get you a quote for my favorite good neighbor hotels to Disneyland within walking distance! That area really has stepped up its game and has several great options. It would have added so much unneeded stress to have to wait for a shuttle every time I wanted to go back to the room for a bit! I also recommend bringing snacks in that you can have ready when you are on the go. granola bar, crackers etc. that goes for traveling with kids too! Bring comfortable shoes, and some comfortable sandals.. my ankles disappeared by the end of the trip my feet were so swollen they would not fit in my shoes anymore. I wore a bellyband for the first time ever on this trip and it did wonders, this is the one that I have (https://amzn.to/38AI1bw)
Lastly it is easy to take a break and still experience the parks! In California Adventure my go to spots are redwood creek for a quiet break, Frozen at the Hyperion Theatre. Philarmagic, Visit the Animation building to just sit, do an animation class or turtle talk. Ariels undersea adventure also is a long ride to get you off your feet. In Disneyland, It's a Small World is a great airconditioned trip around the world while not having to walk. Mickey's Magical Map is a super cute show with great seating. I think I might be the only one but I love just sitting in Toontown and looking at all the detail and letting my little girl play in the houses and sit in the cars.
Even after doing Disneyland pregnant with twins, I still think anytime, is a great time to visit! Memories will always be made and you will never regret seeing your babies smile!
